This list of the best family resorts in Maui Hawaii was written by family travel expert Marcie Cheung and contains affiliate links which means if you purchase something from one of my affiliate links, I may earn a small commission that goes back into maintaining this blog.

I’ve visited Hawaii more than 40 times and a lot of those trips involve at least a week on Maui. That’s because it’s my in-laws’ favorite island so we do multi-generational trips there.

As I’ve been updating this site this year, I realized that I didn’t have a dedicated post on the best places to stay on Maui with kids. So, I’m fixing that!

Here are my personal top picks for the best resorts in Maui Hawaii for families.

What’s the Best Area to Stay in Maui with Family?

When visiting Maui with your family, choosing the right area to stay is super important.

If you’re looking for the best Maui family resorts, Wailea is a fantastic area to consider. It’s perfect for a resort vacation where you can enjoy beautiful beaches and fun activities. Wailea has some awesome resorts that are super kid-friendly, with lots of pools and places to explore.

If you’re on a budget, Kihei is a great spot. It has budget-friendly condos that are cozy and close to the beach. This means you can have a great time without spending too much.

Right now, West Maui, which includes places like Lahaina, Ka’anapali, and Kapalua, is still getting back on its feet after some really big fires. So, some resorts there might not be fully up and running. Keep this in mind when planning your trip to Maui, and you’ll find a great spot for your family vacation!

Criteria for Selecting Family-Friendly Resorts on Maui

When searching for the best family resorts on Maui, I looked at a few important things.

First, I considered how close the resorts are to exciting places like beaches or hiking paths. It’s awesome when you don’t have to go far for fun!

Then, I checked if the resorts have great things for kids, like pools and clubs for playing and making friends. I also made sure the resorts have big enough rooms for the whole family to fit comfortably.

Lastly, I looked for resorts with great food that kids and grown-ups would both like. Keeping these things in mind, I’m sure you’ll find the perfect place for your family’s trip to Maui in the resorts I’ve picked out!
