Lately, we’ve been spending a LOT of time together as a family. While I’ve loved all the extra snuggles from my little boys, I’m starting to dream about where I’m going to run away with my hubby for a romantic getaway.

Being a mom, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in the day-to-day of mom life. Sometimes I feel like all I do is “mom” all day long. That doesn’t leave a lot of time/energy to put into my relationship with my husband.

I’m tired all the time when I’m at home and I have a hard time turning off “mom mode.” That’s why I’m a huge fan of weekend getaways. I can fully take a break from my mom life and be a bit more carefree and relaxed.

Living in the Seattle area, we’re lucky to have so many wonderful options for weekend getaways!

While there are tons of cool weekend getaways in Seattle and so many fun Seattle date night ideas, sometimes we just need to get away from the city and find some peace and quiet.

The Seattle getaways listed below are all set up for romance. Many have spas, on-site restaurants, and room service. Others are simply far away from needy children.

So, let’s dive in!

Top 12 PNW Resorts for Romantic Seattle Weekend Getaways

ALDERBROOK RESORT & SPA

I’m listing this first because we just visited Alderbrook Resort & Spa in March for the first time and it was amazing! It’s located in Hood Canal about 90 minutes from Seattle.

This quiet oasis is truly a PNW gem. This historic hotel has 3 floors plus several cabins on the property. We stayed on the 3rd floor and our ceilings were so high and the room felt very spacious.

There’s a fantastic spa (seriously one of the best massages I’ve had) plus a sauna, steam room, and indoor pool. Check the latest rates and availability.

The on-site restaurant is incredible. Because it’s near the water, it’s a great spot for fresh oysters and other seafood. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and each meal was outstanding and noteworthy.

The restaurant also provides in-room dining with the same high-quality food options.

It’s located on the water and you are able to rent kayaks or go for a boat ride. And across the street, there are multiple hiking trails and a golf course.

We can’t wait to plan our next trip there! It’s seriously one of the most romantic getaways near Seattle!

Find out all the romantic things to do at Alderbrook Resort & Spa and why it’s one of my favorite Seattle getaways!

SEMIAHMOO RESORT & SPA

Located just minutes from the Canadian border, Semiahmoo Resort & Spa is one of our favorite places to get away in the Pacific Northwest.

The rooms are pretty spacious and beautiful. Many overlook the water and it’s such a peaceful view. Check the latest rates and get more information.

They have a wonderful on-site restaurant (I’m a huge fan of their pancakes). And in the summer, they offer outdoor BBQ dinners with live music. There’s also a cafe to get your coffee fix in the morning.

In the evenings, they have s’mores supplies by their outdoor fire pits. It’s such a nostalgic thing to do all cuddled up with your loved one.

The property itself is located right on the water. You can go for romantic walks on the rocky beach or rent a kayak and explore the water. Or simply sit on the deck and see the Peace Arch border crossing in Canada.

Semiahmoo has a wonderful spa where you can get massages, facials, and all kinds of other treatments. Plus, there’s a golf course on-site.

It’s one of the most relaxing getaways near Seattle.

Find out more about Semiahmoo Resort & Spa

We’ve loved our time at Alderbrook Resort & Spa as well as Semiahmoo Resort & Spa. But there are so many places we haven’t explored yet.

So, I asked my travel blogging friends for their recommendations for the best Seattle romantic getaways. Here’s what they came up with!

KALALOCH LODGE

The Kalaloch Lodge is one of four lodges located inside the borders of the Olympic National Park and it’s one of the best Seattle getaways. (The others being Lake Crescent Lodge, Sol Duc Resort, and Log Cabins Resort).

This location is special, however, for its waterfront views, luxury rooms, and private cabins on the bluff!

Guests can choose to stay in the main historic lodge or get their very own cabin fully stocked with a kitchen, fireplace, and multiple rooms.

Located on the Washington Coast, this resort gives you beach access, close proximity to many national park attractions, and just the right amount of separation for a relaxing stay!

The great thing about the Kalaloch Lodge is that there are accommodations to fit all types of families. Why not have the grandparents stay in a private cabin with the kids while the parents opt for their own private room in the lodge? *wink wink*

Staying overnight at the Kalaloch Lodge is the perfect option for adventurous couples in the Pacific Northwest. There are so many things to do nearby!

Drive 10 minutes north to Ruby Beach, a great place to discover tide pools and climb over huge driftwood logs.

Drive a little more north to Rialto Beach where you can hike to the famous Hole-In-The-Wall. Or opt to travel east to see the Hall of Mosses in the Hoh Rainforest.

You can also drive a bit farther around the Olympic Peninsula and make a day trip to snap photos at Cape Flattery. Or you can ride scooters on the beaches of Ocean Shores.

No matter your adventure, the Kalaloch Lodge is in the center of it all! Discover the beauty of the Washington Coast by booking one of the best romantic weekend getaways in Washington State right here!

SUN MOUNTAIN RESORT

Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, WA is one of the best weekend getaways near Seattle for a few reasons.

The romantic trip begins on the drive when you take the Cascade Loop. It is stunning in many spots, and there are lots of great stops along the way to enjoy. Check the latest rates and more information.

Once you arrive at this gorgeous Washington State resort, you will find that the majority of rooms have no TV. I love that, as it allows you more time to connect as a couple.

The spa and pool area overlook the Methow Valley and are surrounded by wildflowers. This makes it a relaxing and romantic atmosphere to unwind in daily.

There is a great restaurant on-site, or plan to catch the horse-drawn wagon out for a fun Cowboy Dinner one evening, for an adventure together you will not forget.

You will want to take one day you are there, to enjoy their private lake. You can rent a canoe, paddleboards or more, to spend time out on the serene lake, enjoying each other’s company.

There are plenty of outdoor activities to explore as well, like nature hikes right on property and bird watching. If you want to get more active you will find tennis courts and other sporting opportunities as well. And then finish the day off in their on-site spa.

The small Western-themed town of Winthrop is a 5-minute drive away and sits on the river. You will find shops and more dining options there to explore too.

Overall, it was such a relaxing and beautiful weekend with just the right mix of things to do and downtime. It is the perfect opportunity to reconnect as a couple, and I cannot wait to go back!

CAMEO HEIGHTS MANSION

The Cameo Heights Mansion is a magnificent bed & breakfast located just outside the city of Walla Walla, perched on a bluff overlooking the beautiful valley.

While it’s only about 20 minutes from Washington’s top wine destination (there are tons of amazing Walla Walla wineries), you won’t even have to leave the property to enjoy a relaxing romantic getaway full of pampering.

That’s just one of the reasons it’s one of the best getaways from Seattle.

Each suite in the mansion is equipped with all the comforts of home. This includes private baths with Jacuzzi tubs, luxurious bath products, and, in some cases, balconies overlooking the pool. The rooms are all European-themed aside from the posh Dubai Suite.

Guests have free reign of the property, which includes a gorgeous outdoor pool and a hot tub as well as a cozy indoor theater for movie nights.

Play a game of ping pong or chess or borrow a book from the library. Or you can raid the complimentary snacks and order a bottle of wine for your suite.

The onsite restaurant, The Vine, has a nightly dinner service that is not only delicious but reasonably priced at $75 per person for a seven-course meal.

A complimentary breakfast is included each morning, and that’s not even the best part. You can arrange for a morning tray of pastries and coffee to be left at your door before breakfast even begins.

You’ll have everything you need when you stay at the mansion. But if you do decide to venture out and do some wine tasting, the owners can arrange for a limo service for you.

They even have an onsite massage room if you and your other half need some extra relaxation.

Owners Alan and Deanne go above and beyond to make sure each guest has a great time.

If you’re a foodie, Suncadia has you covered there as well. With a total of five restaurants on-site, you might find yourself eating crab beignets for lunch. Then head over to the winery for a tasting flight and end your day with cedar plank steelhead for dinner.

Now that you’re beyond excited, don’t forget to book your stay early to get the perfect room for your next weekend getaway. Being a mountain-side resort, there are so many ways to stay at Suncadia.

If you’re going with a group of couples you might want to rent an entire vacation home or book one of the many condos. For an intimate couples’ weekend getaway we recommend booking a River View Suite at the lodge.

However you choose to stay and play, Suncadia is waiting and cannot wait to see you for your next couples vacation.

It’s no reason it’s a top romantic getaway near Seattle!

THE SOCIETY HOTEL

The Society Hotel is a magical, under-the-radar hotel in Bingen, Washington that’s the perfect jumping-off point for visiting Columbia River Gorge along the Oregon/Washington border.

It’s located in a historic elementary school restored by four friends who took care to reuse as many original materials as possible. Check the latest rates and more information.

For example, they removed the stage in the gymnasium and reused the wood for flooring throughout the hotel. All of the siding and windows are original. You can even see the original blackboards lining the hallways that lead to rooms cheekily named after school subjects.

Despite the historic charm, there’s plenty of modern conveniences. There’s a cafe in the lobby serving a yummy menu and alcoholic beverages.

All of the bathrooms are incredibly clean and updated. They even thought to include robes and cell phone chargers near the nightstands in every room.

The gymnasium includes basketball, corn hole, and other fun games.

The best modern convenience on the property is definitely the Scandinavian-inspired spa surrounded by wildflower-covered hills. It was built on the school’s old baseball and soccer fields and houses a sauna, pools with different temperatures, and an outdoor Jacuzzi.

They also offer massages, healthy snacks, and yoga classes in “the sanctuary” next door.

This historic elementary school about 4 hours from Seattle (1.5 from Portland) is perfect for a romantic Pacific Northwest getaway thanks to its cozy nooks, Scandinavian-inspired spa, and access to wineries and hikes in Columbia River Gorge.

And the constant reminder of what it’s like to be a kid provides an opportunity for couples to let go of adult worries and connect.

THE HEADLANDS

If you and your honey are looking for blissful solitude with guaranteed views, thoughtful meals, and the option for adventure, look no further than Headlands Lodge and Spa in Pacific City, Oregon.

The Oregon Coast is awesome for long weekend getaways from Seattle!

Headlands is a luxury hotel that opened in 2018 on the Oregon Coast. And, while just a little over 100 miles from the Portland airport, it feels like a true getaway. Check the latest rates and more information.

Each one of its 33 guest rooms and 18 beach cottages has a balcony, fireplace, and ocean view. So no upgrades or clicking through property maps are necessary.

The property’s motto is “Head Out. Stay In.” and it rings true. Grab your complimentary robe and a good book, spend a few hours at the spa, or find your namaste in an onsite yoga class.

Or head outside and climb the nearby dune, ride along the coastline on a cruiser bike, or catch salmon on a dory boat. Your level of adventure is completely up to you.

Throughout your stay, keep your body fueled by a variety of Pinots and the excellent, Ocean-driven menu from Headlands’s restaurant, Meridian. Months after my first stay, I’m still dreaming about their deconstructed S’more. Mmmm.

Open the curtains and you’ll be greeted with views of the stunning sandy beach of Cox Bay and ocean views. Step outside and you’re just seconds away from world-class surfing and peaceful beach or forest walks.

Vancouver Island is known for running a little slower and as soon as you step off BC ferries in Nanaimo or Victoria, you’ll feel relaxed. There’s not much more you could need for a romantic getaway in the PNW than that!

The resort offers a range of different accommodation types from private beach houses to hot tub suites and all come with fully equipped kitchens.

There’s also an on-site surf shack offering rentals, surfside grill for post-surf snacks, free morning yoga, a coffee shop, beach toys, games and bicycles to use! All this makes it perfect for an easy getaway from Seattle.

If you choose to wander out of the resort you could head to Tofino Brewing or stroll the boutique shops such as Merge.

While there’s no shortage of things to do in Tofino and Ucluelet nearby, you can’t beat watching the sunset over the ocean from your balcony or on Cox Bay beach.

SANDPIPER RESORT ROWENA’S INN AT HARRISON MILLS

Drive North, cross the border into British Columbia, and you’ll find an abundance of options for romantic weekend getaways from Seattle.

One of our favorites is the secluded and romantic Sandpiper Resort Rowena’s Inn at Harrison Mills. It’s just a 3-hour drive from the Emerald City.

Rowena’s Inn is a converted English-style manor sitting on a lush 160-acre estate overlooking the Harrison River.

The Inn is beautifully furnished with elegant pieces and fabulous antiques, many of which have a unique story of their own. You’ll love the dining room table that was used by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.

Inside the manor, there are six gorgeous guest rooms each with a view of the estate and river.

Or there are private cabins for a more rustically romantic experience. The original one-bedroom classic cabins are tucked into the woods. They come with a wood-burning fireplace, 2 person Jacuzzi tub and a private patio with a view.

Recently, Sandpiper Resort has also added 1, 2 and 3 bedroom luxurious cabins with full facilities to accommodate families and groups.

The Sandpiper Resort has an on-site restaurant, swimming pool, golf course, and lovely grounds to relax and explore so there’s no really need to leave the property.

However, with the popular Harrison Hot Springs and Harrison Lake just 20 minutes away, you may be tempted to venture out for a day of sightseeing, hiking or water activities.
