With summer around the corner, do some fun Seattle-area staycations with your family. Don’t miss these amazing things to do with kids in Tacoma, WA.

Does your family get super excited when you hear your city is building a new park? A few years ago, my city got its first “inclusive playground” and I immediately went online to figure out what that meant.

Now that we’re fully into our Back-to-School routine, I’m itching to plan some more trips! I’m always on the hunt for cool Pacific Northwest weekend getaways for Fall.
So, I asked some of my Seattle blogger friends to suggest their favorite Pacific Northwest weekend getaways. Plus, I added in a couple of our favorites, too!

I’ve been trying to plan a trip to the Oregon Coast for the past 3 years. I remember going there when I was little and playing on the sandy beach. So, when I had the opportunity to check out the Inn at Cape Kiwanda, I jumped on it!

I’ve been wanting to explore the Tillamook cheese factory since I was a kid. My great-grandma used to live in Salem, Oregon and we always talked about stopping there when we visited her. But, we never got around to it.
So, when I heard about the new Tillamook Creamery that opened a few months ago, I figured we needed to plan a weekend trip to the Oregon Coast with our kids!

Visit Kent, WA for Kid-Friendly Adventures
One of our favorite things to do on weekends here in Seattle is exploring nearby cities for a PNW getaway. This past weekend, Visit Kent WA invited my family on a press trip to discover what makes Kent such a kid-friendly place in Washington State.
Can you believe that up until last year, I had NEVER been to a Cirque du Soleil show? That’s crazy since they have done 15 shows here in Seattle since 1990! I was invited to opening night of LUZIA last year and it blew my mind! So, when they reached out again to invite me to VOLTA, I didn’t even blink before confirming we’d be there!

I’ve been wanting to visit Seabrook, Washington for the past 5 years.
I first heard about it when I was working on a school auction and one of the families donated a week’s stay there.
I immediately Googled Seabrook WA and thought it looked like a charming seaside community. Then, I realized that the name Seabrook kept coming up when people talked about their summer plans.

Living in Seattle, we are fortunate to be so close to both Vancouver, BC and Portland, OR. Both are amazing cities for families with toddlers and preschoolers. Plus, they are just a few hours drive from Seattle. See why Portland with toddlers is always a good idea.

When I was younger, I loved hanging out at the beach. I’d put on my swimsuit, grab a towel and a fun novel and off I’d go. Now that I have a baby and a 3.5-year-old, I seem to fill my whole car with “stuff” when I head to the beach with kids.
Living in the Pacific Northwest, we are lucky enough to be able to head to the Pacific Ocean, Puget Sound or a variety of nearby lakes. My new favorite spot is Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah, WA. Not only do they have an amazing new play area with a splash pad, but they have an awesome beach that is perfect for kids. It requires a Discover Pass, but we’ve visited this park so many times that it’s been worth the cost.

I’m a big fan of girlfriend getaways. Since I have little kids, I don’t get to do them very often. But, I think it’s so important to get away from my #momlife every once in awhile and recharge. When I was invited on an Astoria, Oregon girls getaway, I didn’t think twice.
