Now that we’re fully into our Back-to-School routine, I’m itching to plan some more trips! I’m always on the hunt for cool Pacific Northwest weekend getaways for Fall.

So, I asked some of my Seattle blogger friends to suggest their favorite Pacific Northwest weekend getaways. Plus, I added in a couple of our favorites, too!

Pacific Northwest Family Vacation Ideas

School’s out and there’s really no better place to spend the summer than the Pacific Northwest.

I’m a Seattle girl, born and raised, and I love Northwest summer adventures. With our green trees, glistening lakes, babbling brooks, snow-capped mountains, and rocky beaches, there are countless Pacific Northwest family vacation ideas.

One of the perks of living in Seattle is that we have so many gorgeous weekend trip options. As a family with a baby and a preschooler, we love taking small trips around Washington State. We’ve recently visited Semiahmoo Resort & Spa, Suncadia and Seabrook. A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to head up to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Spring has finally arrived in the Pacific Northwest and San Juan Island was simply stunning. We were impressed with all the fun things to do in San Juan Island with kids!

My friend likes to collect memberships to museums. I always joke that if there’s a new museum out there, she probably already has a membership there. So, when she told me she just got a membership to the Washington State History Museum (located a good 45 minutes away from our house) I just laughed and thought “of course you did.” But then she invited my family to join them for their Model Train Festival and I totally got it.

In my effort to explore fun places closer to home, I decided to gather up some Moms and toddlers and head to Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, WA. I had been here on a field trip when I was in 3rd grade and that was the last time. I had heard good things from friends about it being small enough to see before nap time. So, we met up at 10am on a Friday to see for ourselves.
