First Time to New York City
My husband and I love to travel. We spent our honeymoon in Hong Kong and Thailand. We’ve explored Europe with (and without) our kids.
But, when it comes to the U.S., we really haven’t been too many places. New York City has been on my travel bucket list since I was in high school.
So, when my Mom offered to watch the kids so my husband and I could go on a kid-free getaway, I started planning our New York City 4 day itinerary!

Last month, my Mom went to Disneyland for the first time! She joined us on our family trip. My 3.5-year-old had a blast riding the teacups and Dumbo with her. I can still hear their laughter and see their grinning faces as they just enjoyed the whole Disney experience. If you’d like to hear how I prepped both of them for Disneyland, you can read about it here.
Now that we’re home from our fun-filled adventure, I wanted to do something to thank my Mom for all her help. My Mom taught me the importance of writing thank you cards when I was little, so I knew that was my first step. I’ve always had good luck with American Greetings cards. I’m not always good about saying thanks in person, but I know that a few simple words in a card can have a long-lasting impact.

Do you ever take photos while traveling and they just sit on your computer? Or maybe you put a few on social media? I try to create photo books whenever possible, but that’s becoming a hobby I rarely have time to do. My family loves to look at photos of our family travels. So, when Lumaprints contacted me about their metal prints, I had just the photo in mind!

Wild Hearts Farm
I’ve been following Wild Hearts Farm on social media for awhile. It’s a small, private farm located in Tacoma, WA just 30 minutes from Seattle. One of my favorite photographers Heleyna Holmes has been posting gorgeous photos of her children at the farm for the past year. With a tire swing, little pond, barn and studio, it’s an ideal space to get relaxed photos of kids. So, when Heleyna invited me to an open house at Wild Hearts Farm, I jumped at the opportunity!
