While I’ve been a huge Stitch Fix fan for almost 2 years now, I’ve recently become impressed with their Stitch Fix Kids subscription boxes.

We bought a Summer Stitch Fix Kids box a few months ago and I swear my 6 year old son Owen lived in those clothes all summer long. And he’s still wearing those cute shark sandals almost every day.

Now that Owen is heading into 1st grade, he asked me if we’re still going Back to School shopping, like usual. He’s doing distance learning this fall with this school and he knows this is not a typical year.

So, we’re trying to stick to whatever traditions we can. It just means we’re Back to School shopping from home!

I specifically asked his stylist for unique fall fashion trends for kids that are comfortable to wear and look cute for Zoom calls. And I requested a rain jacket, since we live in the Pacific Northwest.

He was so excited when the Stitch Fix Kids box arrived that he almost opened it before I had a chance to film an unboxing video!

So, my own Stitch Fix boxes I’ve been getting the past few months have been pretty fantastic and I’ve kept quite a few items.

Let’s see if Owen’s Stitch Fix Kids stylist was on the money with her Stitch Fix Kids selections and whether or not this Stitch Fix Kids unboxing is a hit or a miss.

And right now, if you sign up using my referral link, you’ll get $25 off your first Stitch Fix Kids box!

KID DANGEROUS | MAXIMO SHORT SLEEVE SHIRT

One of my son’s favorite items from the Stitch Fix Kids Summer Box was a Kid Dangerous graphic tee. So we were hoping to get another one in this box.

We love how quirky the graphics are and they are super unique boy shirts.

Retail Price: $12.00

What He Liked about this Maximo Short Sleeve Shirt

He cracked up when he saw this shirt! At first, he thought it was a dog wearing sunglasses. On second look, he realized it’s actually a bear and that’s even funnier!

The shirt fit really well and the colors are great.

What He Didn’t Like about this Maximo Short Sleeve Shirt

While he really liked the shirt, it didn’t end up being one of his top picks.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

WAYSIDE | COREN TECH FLEECE PULLIOVER HOOD

As we head into Fall, we’re always on the lookout for warm layers to wear both indoors and outdoors. My kids wear a lot of hoodies because they are so comfy and versatile.

Plus, they are the perfect blend of loungewear and “real” clothing!

Retail Price: $24.00

What He Liked about this Coren Tech Fleece Pulliover Hood

Honestly, this wasn’t my personal favorite hoodie because it just seemed a bit “meh” to me. But, my son LOVED it!

He’s a huge fan of kangaroo pockets and he liked that this was a pullover hoodie instead of a zip up one. He’s also been really into dark colors lately, so I think that was another draw.

Oh, I really liked that the hoodie part didn’t have a drawstring. Those always get lost or I have to spend a lot of time feeding it through the hoodie.

What He Didn’t Like about this Coren Tech Fleece Pulliover Hood

He liked everything about this.

FINAL VERDICT: Keep

RUMI + RYDER | THE CLASSIC SHORT SLEEVE GRAPHIC TEE

One of the coolest kids clothing trends in the past few years is the use of sequins on tee shirts for both girls AND boys.

While they can get distracting when worn in a school setting, they are awesome for at home or traveling. Kids love petting the sequins to change the color or design.

Retail Price: $18.00

What He Liked about this Classic Short Sleeve Graphic Tee

Um, it has sequins. What more do you want?

We both thought it was really cute and I was actually surprised that he didn’t push to keep this shirt. But, he does already have several ones that are Star Wars themed.

What He Didn’t Like about this Classic Short Sleeve Graphic Tee

He’s not that into dinosaurs, so I think the novelty of this shirt wore off pretty quickly.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

LUCKY BRAND | 5 POCKET SKINNY STRETCH DENIM

My son grew a lot this summer and most of the jeans he wore last year are now a bit short on him. We usually wear a lot of denim when we’re out exploring because they are sturdy and protect his knees from getting all scraped up.

He’s definitely due for some new ones.

Retail Price: $24.00

What He Liked about this 5 Pocket Skinny Stretch Denim

He liked the color/wash of these jeans.

What He Didn’t Like about this 5 Pocket Skinny Stretch Denim

Well, these were size 4/5 and he’s almost 7 years old. He didn’t like knowing they were meant for “little” kids.

They actually fit him in length, but they were still wide in the waist. He’s tall and lean, so this brand just doesn’t fit him very well. We usually buy Cat & Jack jeans from Target.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

LAZER | DANIEL ULTRA FLEX 5 POCKET SKINNY KNIT DENIM

Since we’re doing distance learning at least through Fall, we’re focusing on super comfy pants that he can wear all day long at home.

It’s always a bonus to find comfortable pants that aren’t sweatpants!

Retail Price: $24.00

What He Liked about this Daniel Ultra Flex 5 Pocket Skinny Knit Denim

He LOVED how warm and soft these were on the inside. Definitely had a sweat pant feel inside with the look of denim on the outside. Total win!

And he liked that these pants were black.

What He Didn’t Like about this Daniel Ultra Flex 5 Pocket Skinny Knit Denim

He’s in the middle of another growth spurt and these didn’t fit him perfectly. I think he actually needs the next size up, but they wouldn’t fit him for a little bit.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

SOVEREIGN CODE | PARKER SHORT SLEEVE CONVERSATIONAL CREW TEE

As part of the Stitch Fix Kids questionnaire, they asked if my son was into space. He totally is, so I made sure to mark that box.

They sent us a couple of space-themed shirts, including this one.

Retail Price: $16.00

What He Liked about this Parker Short Sleeve Conversational Crew Tee

He thought it was funny that it looked like the space ship was going into the pocket on the tee shirt. And he liked how soft the shirt was.

What He Didn’t Like about this Parker Short Sleeve Conversational Crew Tee

He just wasn’t “wowed” by it.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

HOLLYWOOD THE JEAN PEOPLE | REGGIE LONG SLEEVE GRAPHIC TEE

My son has been studying the solar system all summer long, so I was curious whether or not he’d like this shirt. The previous shirt was a bit “boring” for him.

Reggie Long Sleeve Graphic Tee by Hollywood The Jean People

Retail Price: $14.00

What He Liked about this Reggie Long Sleeve Graphic Tee

He loved EVERYTHING about this shirt! He liked that each planet was labeled and how the shirt also had NASA on it. And, he appreciated the shirt was black.

What He Didn’t Like about this Reggie Long Sleeve Graphic Tee

Nothing. He didn’t even want to take it off and ended up wearing it the rest of the day.

FINAL VERDICT: Keep

OSH KOSH | ZAYN RAINCOAT

As we head into the long rainy season here in the PNW, I requested a rain jacket to wear outside as we DIY recess.

My son’s raincoat from last year is getting too small and I wanted a fun jacket that might encourage him to get outside no matter what the elements are.

Zayn Raincoat by Osh Kosh

Retail Price: $28.00

What He Liked about this Zayn Raincoat

Honestly, I was surprised that he liked this so much because it has dinosaurs on it. But, I think the main draw is that it changes color in the rain. The dinosaurs change from white to a camo print when wet.

I thought the sleeves might be a little short for him, but he tried it on and they fit really well with a little room to spare.

He kept raving about how soft the inside of the jacket was. And the material is really flexible vs rigid.

What He Didn’t Like about this Zayn Raincoat

I think he probably would have preferred this coat if it was space-themed, but that’s about it.

FINAL VERDICT: Keep

RUNWAY | THE ACTIVE SLIM PANT

This is the year of the comfy pant!

Both my boys have been wearing a lot more athletic clothing than they ever have before. That’s because they are extra soft, flexible, and usually pretty breathable.

But, they usually wear athletic shorts not pants. This was the first time trying on active pants.

The Active Slim Pant by Runway

Retail Price: $22.00

What He Liked about this Active Slim Pant

He was in heaven the moment he tried these on and he didn’t want to take them off! He loved the color and how they felt.

They were such a hit that he ended up wearing them all day long to do both indoor and outdoor activities. I totally want to get him a few more pairs in the next size up.

What He Didn’t Like about this Active Slim Pant

They are on the cusp of being too short for him. Normally, I would have tried to exchange them for a bigger size, but he doesn’t have many pants that fit him right now.

FINAL VERDICT: Keep

MAUI & SONS | GRAPHIC SHORT SLEEVE TEE

In the Summer Stitch Fix Kids box, my son kept a whole outfit that was all about sharks and how they are “totally jaw-some! He’s worn that outfit at least once a week all summer long.

I’m guessing that’s why his Stitch Fix Kids stylist added another one in this box.

Graphic Short Sleeve Tee by Maui & Sons

Retail Price: $12.00

What He Liked about this Graphic Short Sleeve Tee

Of course, he thought it was “totally jaw-some” to get another shark tee!

I loved how it was a total throwback to the 90s and I swear my cousins wore shirts almost identical to that when I was growing up!

What He Didn’t Like about this Graphic Short Sleeve Tee

He already has some cool shark tees and didn’t feel like he needed another one.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

Watch His Full Stitch Fix Unboxing + Try On Video

Overall, we’d say this Stitch Fix Kids Unboxing was really good!

This Stitch Fix Kids subscription box lived up to Owen’s expectations! If you watched the video, you know he was pretty stoked about almost all the items!

He would have kept a few more items if I hadn’t limited him to just the 4 items (the hoodie, the solar system shirt, the raincoat, and the active pants.)

He’s already asking when his next Stitch Fix Kids box is coming! I have him all signed up to get one stocked with winter clothing items in December.
