Deep in the heart of the Santa Ynez wine country is the Anavo Farm’s Chic Sheep Retreat, a hidden gem getaway where the only sounds you’ll hear are those from the roosters, horses, and sheep.

As long as you’re visiting the tiny Danish village of Solvang, you might as well take advantage of their annual Julefest that takes place from November 28 to January 1 and celebrate the holidays, Danish style.

You can jam during the holiday concert, take a candlelight tour, enjoy the parade, or visit Santa in his own village.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the Jule Nisse, a group of Danish gnomes that have clues that could earn you some awesome holiday prizes.

If you’re looking for a more hands-on farm experience, you can also tour the historic Billings Farm and milk a cow or churn some butter, too. It’s only $148 per night.

But if you don’t mind spending a little extra, (as in $575 a night extra!) then gather the family for a weekend getaway in this luxurious 3-bedrooms 1820’s stone barn house that’s perfect for anyone who loves wide open spaces.

The rental is located on open acres of green fenced pastures. It doesn’t get any better than that!
