For those of us who grew up watching Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, having breakfast at Be Our Guest in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is a MUST!

What is Be Our Guest?

Be Our Guest (also called BOG in Disney speak) is the restaurant located in the Beast’s castle in the newer section of Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. Some people claim it’s one of the best restaurants in Magic Kingdom.

They offer quick service breakfast and lunch. But, instead of picking up your food, they serve it to you on real plates with utensils (instead of the usual quick service presentation.)

And it’s known for its character dinner with the Beast.

Insider tip: Give yourself plenty of time to get there from the Park entrance, especially on crowded mornings.

Check In

Even with reservations, be prepared to wait a bit.

You’ll see a line of people waiting to check in outside the castle. Once you check in there, you’ll enter the gates and wait in another line outside.

From there, a cast member will wave you into yet another line inside the castle. There are a few cool things to look out for in this area. (https://acatimes.com/) Keep your ears open as some armored guards talk!

Then, you’ll grab a menu and head to a stand where a cast member will place your order. Unless you have ordered online, in which case you can skip this.

Finally, you’ll head into the dining areas and find your own table.

Insider tip: Use your waiting time to get some really cool photos outside and inside the Beast’s castle!

Where to Sit at Be Our Guest

There are three dining areas in the Beast’s castle:

THE GRAND BALLROOM

This is where we sat for breakfast and it was fabulous!

The Grand Ballroom is the largest of the dining rooms at Be Our Guest. Photo credit: Darren Cheung

It feels like a luxurious ballroom with ornate chandeliers and high ceilings. It’s the largest of the rooms and you’ll definitely feel like a princess!

Make sure to walk to the back of the room and look out the window. You’ll be able to see a landscape of a French village and you’ll see snow falling! It’s pretty incredible!

THE WEST WING

If you are looking for a very unique place to eat breakfast at Disney World, the West Wing feels like an exclusive, private dining club.

It’s darker than the Grand Ballroom, but that makes it easier to see the famous rose and a “painting” of the Beast that flickers with lighting and thunder.

It’s the smallest of the rooms and it’s definitely where you’ll want to sit if you are a huge Beauty and the Beast fan!

THE CASTLE GALLERY

This room is definitely worth walking through after breakfast, but I’d say it’s the third choice of places to eat.

It feels much more like a regular cafeteria, only there’s a Beauty and the Beast music box display in the center of the room and lots of artwork featuring Belle and the Beast on the walls.

Be Our Guest Breakfast Review

I made reservations using the Disney World app two days prior. I saw that they had an 8:10am reservation available and I snapped it up because I know it’s one of the most coveted restaurants in Magic Kingdom.

When I originally booked it, I thought it was a character meal with the Beast.

But, after looking into it, I found out that the Beast only makes an appearance during the plated dinner service they offer. And those reservations are really tricky to get!

I’m glad we figured thought out before we went because it helped set expectations and we really enjoyed the experience.

After we found a table, we left the kids with my Mom and my husband and I walked around the restaurant taking photos and video of all the Beauty and the Beast details.

I was really impressed with how different each dining room felt and I could see eating her a few times just to experience a different room.

HOW WAS THE FOOD?

Even though this is a quick-service restaurant, cast members bring the food right to your table. What’s super cool is that your food is pushed around in a fancy-looking cart, right on theme!

Having been to Paris twice, I knew I had to order the Croque Madame. It’s like an open face sandwich topped with an egg and bechamel sauce. It’s a classic French breakfast item.

I thought it tasted pretty good and on par with some I’ve had in other non-French restaurants.

My husband had the Feast A La Gaston, which is eggs, potatoes, meat and fruit. He gobbled it up pretty quickly and thought it was pretty good.

My mom had the Open-Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich, which was served on a croissant. She tried picking it up to eat, but it was pretty messy. But, she enjoyed the flavors.

I thought it was interesting that crepes were only available on the kids menu and not the adult menu, since it’s such a classic French dish. So, of course, we had to order it for the kids so we could try it!

The crepes are stuffed with a not-so-sweet yogurt (it almost tasted like sour cream) which threw off my kids. So, I ended up trading them my fruit for some of their crepe.

While this wasn’t a character breakfast, it still felt special and different than other restaurants around Walt Disney World.

It made me want to try to get dinner reservations here in the future and get all dressed up to eat in a castle!

Tips for Your Be Our Guest Breakfast

RESERVE THIS FIRST

When making your Walt Disney World dining reservations, it’s best to try to get the most difficult reservations first.

If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can make reservations up to 180 days before your first day of vacation.

Insider tip: Try looking for reservations for the end of your trip, as you’ll be competing with less people trying to score a reservation!

But, don’t fret if you can’t secure one at first. Keep checking sporadically in the months/weeks before your trip. People are always canceling reservations and you might get lucky!

We scored our reservation 2 days prior simply by refreshing the Disney World app a few times!

BOOK A FEW TIMES

If you see an available table at Be Our Guest, just book it! You can do this a few times just to guarantee a meal there.

Then, after you select your FastPasses and come up with your plan, you can just cancel the tables you don’t need.

You have until 24 hours prior to your reservation to cancel without penalty.

BUDGET FOR IT

This is definitely the fanciest of your quick-service breakfast options, and it has a price tag to match:

Adults: $28
Kids 9 and younger: $15

But, keep in mind that this price includes an entree and a plate of pastries. And while the food is good, you’re really here to experience the inside of the Beast’s castle.

And if you have the Disney Dining Plan, this uses a quick service credit, which is a good deal (and why it’s so hard to get a reservation!)

MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR BEFORE THE PARK OPENS

While we didn’t do this, I know you can get into Magic Kingdom early if you have a reservation at Be Our Guest.

This is a great opportunity to get those iconic photos in front of the Castle without tons of people.

Plus, you can even do a few rides before the crowds hit! I’ve heard of people riding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train once or twice before the line gets too long.

RE-WATCH THE MOVIE

I’m sure you’ve seen Beauty and the Beast many times, but trust me when I say you’ll want to re-watch it before dining here.

When it’s fresh in your mind, you’ll appreciate all the little details so much more!

We watched it a few times with our kids in the weeks before our trip and it made them super excited to eat at the Beast’s castle!

If you don’t own the movie, you can buy it here.

WEAR YOUR BEAUTY AND THE BEAST STUFF

If you want super adorable photos, order a Belle dress for little girls or this little Beast coverall for babies and toddlers.

And adults can join in the fun, too! This shirt is perfect for Dads. For Moms, this shirt is super cute and this dress is perfect for Disneybounding.

ORDER BREAKFAST ONLINE

The Be Our Guest breakfast is considered a quick-service restaurant and you are able to order online from 5 minutes to 30 days prior to your reservation.

So, if you’re hoping to eat quickly and race to the rides, this will save you a lot of time! Plus, you’ll skip some of the line!

PARENTS OF TODDLERS MIGHT AVOID SITTING IN THE WEST WING

If you’re going to Be Our Guest with babies or toddlers, I’d recommend eating in the Grand Ballroom or the Castle Gallery because it’s not as dark as the West Wing.

The flickering lights and sound of thunder might frighten younger kids. I know my 5 year old thought it sounded “scary.”

The Grand Ballroom is quite large and a bit loud, so you won’t feel bad if your toddler makes a lot of noise while waiting for the food to come out.

BRING A ZIPLOC BAG

So, every meal comes with a plate of assorted pastries. If you’ve ordered breakfast for everyone in your family, that’s a lot of food and you might have leftovers.

That’s why I suggest bringing a baggie along. The pastries are pretty portable and you can snack on them later in the day.

WALK THROUGH ALL DINING ROOMS

No matter where you sit to eat, make sure to walk around the whole restaurant to see all the little details.

There are tons of little rose features on furniture, fixtures, and in the artwork. And lots of mosaics throughout the castle.

Plus, you won’t want to leave without seeing the rose and the falling snow!

SNAP A PHOTO ON YOUR WAY OUT

Right at the restaurant exit is a large stained glass window featuring Belle and the Beast.

This is a great photo spot, if you can let other diners exit first. That way you won’t get other people in your shot!

GET A FASTPASS FOR ENCHANTED TALES WITH BELLE

Since we were already in the Beauty and the Beast spirit, I’m so happy that we had FastPasses for Enchanted Tales with Belle a few hours after breakfast.

The kids (and my husband) snagged parts in the play and it ended with each of them getting photos with Belle and a signed bookmark.

Definitely a great way to extend the Beauty and the Beast experience!

I hope this helps you decide whether or not you want to grab a Be Our Guest reservation!
