Living in Seattle, we are fortunate to be so close to both Vancouver, BC and Portland, OR. Both are amazing cities for families with toddlers and preschoolers. Plus, they are just a few hours drive from Seattle. See why Portland with toddlers is always a good idea.

When I was younger, I loved hanging out at the beach. I’d put on my swimsuit, grab a towel and a fun novel and off I’d go. Now that I have a baby and a 3.5-year-old, I seem to fill my whole car with “stuff” when I head to the beach with kids.
Living in the Pacific Northwest, we are lucky enough to be able to head to the Pacific Ocean, Puget Sound or a variety of nearby lakes. My new favorite spot is Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah, WA. Not only do they have an amazing new play area with a splash pad, but they have an awesome beach that is perfect for kids. It requires a Discover Pass, but we’ve visited this park so many times that it’s been worth the cost.

I’m a big fan of girlfriend getaways. Since I have little kids, I don’t get to do them very often. But, I think it’s so important to get away from my #momlife every once in awhile and recharge. When I was invited on an Astoria, Oregon girls getaway, I didn’t think twice.

The Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa in Astoria, OR
Spring in the Pacific Northwest is absolutely beautiful! I’ve lived in the Seattle-area for my whole life, but I haven’t explored Oregon outside of Portland. When I was invited to experience a girls weekend at Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa in Astoria, OR, I jumped at the opportunity! I mean, Astoria, Oregon has so many things to do that are perfect for a girlfriend getaway.

I was lucky enough to get to go on a Moms-only trip to Portland, Oregon in March. We try to get away once a year and we chose Portland because it’s just 3 hours from our homes in the Seattle-area. We all have 3-year-olds, so it’s a comfortable distance. I started researching hotels immediately. Since one of the Moms in our group was super pregnant, we wanted to find somewhere centrally located (where we could walk to stuff) but that also offered food options in case we ended up just hanging at the hotel. And cleanliness was of highest priority.
