Little Kook Patisserie in Athens

While there are lots of cute family-friendly cafés in Athens, the Little Kook Patisserie takes the cake.

It’s a fairytale-inspired café that constantly changes its theme. Sometimes it’s Mary Poppins and other times it’s Alice in Wonderland or the Nutcracker; it’s part of the fun!

Take a short bus ride east of Athens’s historic center and you’ll find Allou! Fun Park. It’s an amusement park with rides catering to children of all ages from kindergarten and upwards.

You can ride Ferris wheels, teacups, and rollercoasters all day. It’s one of the many reasons to travel to Greece for families.

Stray Cats in the Anafiotika District of Athens

Take note of the sunset time earlier in the day and show up 10 or 15 minutes beforehand. 

You won’t snag the best spot, but the view will be beautiful no matter where you are. Plus, if you have young kids they’re less likely to get bored.

Cine Manto in Mykonos

Santorini’s Cinema Kamari might be one of the best open-air cinemas in Europe, but there are outdoor cinemas all over the country and they’re one of the top things to do in Greece.

The best time of year to enjoy family travel in Greece is from May to September.

Logistically, this is a great time to be traveling to Greece with family because your kids will be out of school. But this is also when Greece experiences its best, warmest weather. 

You’ll be welcomed with blue skies, warm seas, and very little rain.

Yes, visiting Greece with kids during this season means accommodation prices and flights will be more expensive. But doesn’t everything get more expensive when you have kids anyway?!
