Does your family have big holiday travel plans? My family is heading to Walt Disney World for the first time and I’m paranoid that someone is going to sick we’ll miss out on some of the fun.

A few weeks ago, I was chatting with my friend Jess at a kids birthday party. She had just gotten back from a whirlwind trip with her baby and toddler to Central America. Her trip sounded incredible! But then, she paused and told me how wiped out she was. She suggested I write a post about how to recover after a family vacation. That really got me thinking about my own experience after we get home from big family trips. I’m always exhausted! So, I’ve created a list of self care tips for moms after traveling with kids. Plus, I added in self care ideas that would be perfect Mother’s Day gifts for moms.

What Makes Hawaiian Cookies Special?
As I’ve gotten older, most of my souvenirs from Hawaii are food souvenirs. Honolulu Cookie Company features some of my favorite Hawaiian cookies. Shortbread cookies are my favorite and I love how Honolulu Cookie Company puts their own tropical flair into each cookie. I’m partial to the guava, lilikoi and mango flavors.

National Plan for Vacation Day is January 30
Never heard of it? Neither had I until a few weeks ago, but I LOVE the concept! The goal of National Plan for Vacation Day is to encourage Americans to declare their vacation days for the rest of the year, at the start of the year. Luckily, Alamo Rent A Car has teamed up with Project: Time Off to help promote these efforts, and you can read all about it on The Scenic Route.

I’m not normally a traditional person. I’m all about sharing things on social media and texting photos to friends and family. However, I’m very traditional about sending real, paper birth announcement cards. I love adding in the statistics (birth date, weight, height, etc). Most importantly, though, is that I like to select photos and design the card myself. Besides our annual Christmas card, it’s the only time I mail things to many family members.

Our toddler Owen has been so fortunate to have opportunities to travel the world at such a young age. He’s been to Thailand
, and more. We know that he won’t remember most of these trips years from now, but he definitely remembers them vividly for months and has absorbed so much about other places and cultures. I believe that these global experiences will impact the person he becomes, so it got me thinking about a toddler travel bucket list.

One of my good friends recently traveled to New Zealand with her husband and 4 year old son. They had such an epic trip that I begged them to write a guest post about New Zealand with kids for Marcie in Mommyland.

Why We Chose VIP Tour for Universal Studios Hollywood
My husband and I have been debating bringing the kids to Universal Studios for awhile. I’d never been and my husband had been many years ago.
Since our kids are 4 years old and 1 year old, I had a feeling they might not be able to do most of the rides.
So, when my Mom offered to fly up to watch the boys, my husband and I decided to live it up in Los Angeles for the weekend! And top on our list was a day at Universal Studios in Hollywood!
