Weekend Getaways in Washington: Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Sumner

Brimstone PNW Smokehouse

This place was highly recommended because of its kid friendly atmosphere.

It was a short walk from the restaurant to Skansie Brothers Park right at the marina.

The Maritime Inn is located right in the heart of the waterfront district, so it doesn’t get much more convenient than this.

The Maritime Inn

It’s all grab and go and they even had gloves there so it was even easier to keep clean.

Continental Breakfast

Java and Clay Cafe

Right next to The Maritime Inn is Java and Clay Cafe. It’s a paint-your-own-pottery and coffee shop.

Gig Harbor Gondola

It was a full narrated tour of the Gig Harbor waterfront including historic homes, quirky facts, and lots of fascinating history.

Harbor History Museum

Gig Harbor has a long-running competition for the roundest rock and some of the winners are on display at the museum!
