We’re kicking off the second half of one of the weirdest summers of my life! Between coming up with screen-free activities to keep my kids occupied and trying to renovate our house, it’s been a whirlwind.

I actually forgot that I was getting a Wantable Style Edit this month until it arrived in the mail!

But, it was a happy surprise! Lately, life has revolved so much around my kids that it’s nice to have a few moments to treat myself to a mini shopping spree in the comfort of my home!

Before we go on, I want to let you know that I didn’t create a Wantable try on video this time around. With all the stress around schools re-opening vs virtual, I just couldn’t pull myself together to be “camera ready” this week. Thanks for your understanding.

See what I got in my July 2020 Wantable Style Edit

Let’s take a peek at what was inside my August 2020 Wantable Style Edit box:

Wantable Style Edit Unboxing and Try On: August 2020

Since my July Wantable Style Edit was so amazing, I was definitely stoked to see what they picked for me this month. I didn’t give them much guidance and didn’t do the style Stream thing much, either.

I was hoping for a few more summer fashion items to bring a little joy into mom life these days.

Ok, let’s take a look and see what my Wantable stylist picked out this month for my Wantable Style Edit.

Wantable Style Edit Unboxing & Try On: August 2020 featured by top Seattle life and style blogger, Marcie in MommylandW. BY WANTABLE | MAXI SKIRT IN NAVY

Maxi skirts are one of those summer fashion trends that keeps coming back year after year. I think it’s because they are so easy to work with.

You can wear it with a tee shirt and sneakers for a casual look, or a fitted tank top and sandals for a dressier look.

Retail Price: $54.00

What I Liked about this Navy Maxi Skirt

The fabric is super soft and flowy, which is always very flattering. I love the dark navy blue color, since it goes with so many items I already have in my wardrobe.

It also fit me really well and was the perfect length.

What I Didn’t Like about this Navy Maxi Skirt

I already have a very similar skirt in my closet, so couldn’t justify another.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

BLACK TAPE | LUREX TRIM POCKET TANK IN WHITE

I checked my closet the other day and realized that I don’t own a single tank top. And I don’t think I have since I was pregnant with my youngest.

I’ve been on the lookout for an easy tank top to wear this summer that isn’t too fitted or “showy.”

Retail Price: $35.00

What I Liked about this Lurex Trim Pocket Tank

I liked this tank top as soon as I pulled it out, but once I tried it on, I was in love! I was worried that it might be a bit see-thru (I hate it when my bra shows) but all is good!

I love that it’s pretty simple with just enough detail to make it different that a generic tank. The fit is great and keeping it was a no-brainer!

What I Didn’t Like about this Lurex Trim Pocket Tank

I originally thought that it looked too wide when I pulled it out of my Wantable box, but it ended giving me a great, loose fit. The arm holes might be a little bigger than I’d like, but nothing major.

FINAL VERDICT: Keep

BB DAKOTA | HOLDING ON DRESS IN POPPY

Wantable has a really cool website feature called the “Stream” where you can see tons of clothing options and request or decline items.

As soon as I saw this dress, I immediately requested it to be included in one of my future boxes.

Retail Price: $89.00

What I Liked about this Holding On Dress

I love just about everything about this dress! The color is fantastic! The bodice of the dress is perfect for wearing a normal bra (without worrying about showing straps.)

I like that there is elastic around the waist to cinch in the waist and that there’s a little tie belt to hide the elastic.

And I love the big ruffle on the skirt! It’s fun, flirty, and will be perfect for our trips to Hawaii!

It’s super comfortable and I can see myself wearing this on an airplane, exploring Europe in the summer, or wearing on a cruise. Plus, it’s great for hanging out in our backyard on a hot summer day!

What I Didn’t Like about this Holding On Dress

It’s a lot more wrinkly in person than I expected (based on the photo of the model wearing it.) That’s because the material is super soft and feels like a pareo.

I’ll just need to either iron it or (more likely) pop it in my dryer on the steam cycle before I wear.

FINAL VERDICT: Keep

BEACH LUNCH LOUNGE | LUMI TIE FRONT TOP IN SKYLARK

While my wardrobe mainly consists of t-shirts and sweaters year-round, I’m trying to branch out and wear different types of tops. Blouses are something I’ve been trying with hit/miss results.

Lumi tie front top by Beach Lunch Lounge

Retail Price: $48.00

What I Liked about this Lumi Tie Front Top

It’s much, much more flattering on than it is right out of the box. Usually, these types of tops are too short for my long torso. I don’t like to show my belly button, so I’m always a bit leery when there is a tie.

This one ties right near my hip bone and it’s super cute with a pair of distressed jeans! I also love the feel of the fabric!

What I Didn’t Like about this Lumi Tie Front Top

I kept trying to like the print, but I’m just not big on the red/black color scheme with the blue background. I don’t think I would reach for this in my closet because of the print.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

THREAD & SUPPLY | WYOMIA ZIP FRONT JACKET

Living in the Pacific Northwest, we wear jackets year-round (yes, even in the summer!) It’s great to find fabric ones that feel more like a sweater (and aren’t fleece!)

Wyomia zip front jacket by Thread & Supply

Retail Price: $54.00

What I Liked about this Wyomia Zip Front Jacket

I really like the neutral color of this jacket. It goes with just about anything and while it’s casual, it could also work over a long maxi dress or something.

What I Didn’t Like about this Wyomia Zip Front Jacket

I actually have a very similar jacket that I bought on my last trip to Disneyland right before quarantine. It’s the same colors scheme and waffle texture, but with Disney touches.

Since I already own something similar, I returned this.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

HIPPIE GUILT | HALLIE SLEEVELESS MAXI IN BLUE

Nothing says summer style quite like a maxi dress. They are so easy, breezy, and always look so put together. I only wish I lived somewhere where I could wear them year-round!

Retail Price: $74.00

What I Liked about this Hallie Sleeveless Maxi Dress

I really like the fit and the cut of this maxi dress. And the color is really nice. Plus, I like how the fabric moves when I walk around in it.

What I Didn’t Like about this Hallie Sleeveless Maxi Dress

I just couldn’t get into the print.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

MERITAGE | CHINO SHORT IN BUFFY YELLOW

Ok, so last month, I got a pair of yellow shorts that I LOVED but they were just too tight for me. I had to return them, but I had my mind set on getting yellow short somewhere. So, I bought a pair on sale at Old Navy.

When I opened my Wantable box and pulled these yellow short out, I immediately had buyers remorse!

Retail Price: $68.00

What I Liked about this Chino Short in Buffy Yellow

The color is so cheerful and fabulous! I love the length (not too short or too long) and they look completely adorable with a t-shirt or tank top.

What I Didn’t Like about this Chino Short in Buffy Yellow

I mean, how many yellow shorts do I need? Had I not already bought (and worn) a pair of yellow shorts I would have kept these ones. But, I can’t justify owning 2 pairs of yellow shorts (especially when I’m not even traveling right now.)

FINAL VERDICT: Return

Overall, I’d say this Wantable Style Edit Unboxing was fantastic!

Since this was my second time ordering a Wantable Style Edit, I had high expectations because the first box was so great. But, they are still getting to know me so I knew it wouldn’t be a total slam dunk.

However, I really like the assortment of clothing that my Wantable stylist picked out.

I really appreciated that they sent me one of my requested items from the Stream and then filled the rest of the box with fun, happy colors and prints.

The clothes all felt really nice and the colors were mostly ones I love wearing. I’m especially excited to wear the pink dress next time we visit Hawaii!
