We’re just wrapping up one of the strangest summers of my life (it’s the first time I haven’t left the state in about 15 years!) And now we’re heading into the most unusual school year.

I’m a huge fan of Back-to-School shopping. It makes me feel organized and focused on kicking off our year. And yes, I think of a year as starting in September, don’t we all?

While I can’t control most of what’s going in our lives right now, I can continue my tradition of grabbing a few new items for myself.

I’m thinking of it as my teacher appreciation gift!

So, grab your Pumpkin Spice Latte and get into the Fall spirit!

Let’s take a peek at what was inside my September 2020 Stitch Fix box:

MARKET & SPRUCE | ABRIANNA LONGSLEEVE KNIT CARDIGAN

Living in the Pacific Northwest, we’re all about wearing layers year-round. Cardigans are the easiest way to stay warm while still showing off cute tops.

While I have several cardigans at home, I’m always on the lookout for cozy fall cardigans that I can throw on over my fun, summer tops to extend their life a bit.

Retail price: $38.00

What I Liked about this Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan

It’s super, duper soft! And I’m in love with the rich, ocean blue color. It’s a color that I can wear for every season.

This cute cardigan is lightweight and easy to wear over a tank top, graphic tee, or long-sleeve shirt. Or it would work over a maxi dress.

And it’s something I could wear with jammies on chilly mornings while I sip my coffee.

What I Didn’t Like about this Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan

It’s a bit thinner than I normally look for, but that’s also why it’s a great addition to my wardrobe.

FINAL VERDICT: Keep

ABSOLUTELY | MARKLE CREW NECK PULLOVER

Pullover sweaters are great because it doesn’t matter what you wear underneath. You can wear shapewear, a tank top, a blouse, or any kind of shirt for an extra layer of warmth.

They are cute with a pair of jeans and you can dress them up or down without much effort.

Retail price: $38.00

What I Liked about this Markle Crew Neck Pullover

I really like the cute polka dots (I swear, they are simply timeless!) And the neutral colors make it easy to wear with black pants, jeans, or pants with a pop of color.

Plus, it feels really high quality.

What I Didn’t Like about this Markle Crew Neck Pullover

I already own 2 polka dot sweaters and can’t justify another one.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

MARKET & SPRUCE | ROSABEL SKINNY CUFFED PANT

Since most of us are working from home or at least spending a lot more time at home than usual, it’s important to be comfortable.

But comfortable doesn’t have to mean sloppy. This is the year for comfy pants that are still stylish and cute enough to wear out of the house.

Retail price: $78.00

What I Liked about this Rosabel Skinny Cuffed Pant

I actually like the color a whole lot more than I expected to. It’s a rust color that is also neutral enough to go with a variety of cute tops.

And they feel amazing! The fabric is stretchy and they almost feel like yoga pants. Plus, they are super cute!

What I Didn’t Like about this Rosabel Skinny Cuffed Pant

While they fit perfectly in the waist, they looked a bit snug in my booty. I’m not sure if sizing up would help or if that would leave the waist gaping.

FINAL VERDICT: Return (although it was a close call)

LES SEREIN | KATRINA RUFFLE DETAIL BLOUSE

Whether you are working in person or via Zoom, it’s important to look professional (at least from the waist up!)

Blouses are an easy way to add a pop of color or print to a solid color pant and they are an awesome layering piece for fall.

Retail price: $38.00

What I Liked about this Katrina Ruffle Detail Blouse

The print is adorable and this blouse lays really nicely. It looks awesome with the rust color pants and they blue cardigan for a really put-together outfit.

It’s lightweight and easy to wear a camisole under or put a jacket on top. And the colors work for fall or spring really well.

What I Didn’t Like about this Katrina Ruffle Detail Blouse

I actually own a blouse in this exact same print (I had to do a double take when I pulled it out of my Stitch Fix box!)

Obviously, I don’t need two tops in the same print.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

COSMIC BLUE LOVE | ADDY CARGO SKINNY PANT

Like I said before, this is the year to invest in comfortable, yet fashion-forward pants. It’s time to ditch jammies and yoga pants and put on something that makes us feel like we’re back in the real world.

These blue cargo skinny pants are a great option to change up your fall wardrobe.

Stitch Fix Unboxing & Try On: September 2020 featured by top Seattle lifestyle blogger, Marcie in Mommyland: image of Addy Cargo Skinny Pant

Retail price: $88.00

What I Liked about this Addy Cargo Skinny Pant

They are SUPER stretchy! When I pulled them out of my September Stitch Fix box, I wasn’t sure they would fit. But, they fit and they felt really nice.

The blue color is really beautiful and so much richer than a pair of blue jeans.

What I Didn’t Like about this Addy Cargo Skinny Pant

While these pants fit, they looked too tight in my booty. And I just couldn’t get into the skinny cargo pant combo.

FINAL VERDICT: Return

Overall, I’d say this Stitch Fix Unboxing delivered the right fall style I was looking for!

This box was filled with items that would look cute doing a Zoom call or picking up take-out. And they are pieces that will last awhile and transition well through all the seasons.

The clothes were soft, comfortable, and fashionable. Perfect for mom life!
