Stitch Fix Unboxing + Try On | July 2019
I have to say, it’s been really suspenseful to open up my Stitch Fix box every month. It’s becoming a tradition to do my unboxing video with my son Owen.
He even has been taking my photo when I do the Stitch Fix try on!
This month, I asked for lightly distressed jeans and clothing that would be fun to wear at Disneyland (yes, we are taking advantage of the low crowds and going again!)
So, let’s see if my stylist listened to me and whether or not this Stitch Fix box is a hit or a miss.
And don’t forget that if you sign up using my link, you’ll get $25 off your first Stitch Fix box!

ID: 23 | CARRIE DISTRESSED GIRLFRIEND JEAN
I’ve been seeing tons of women wearing distressed jeans this summer and it looks like such a fun way to look carefree and on-trend, while still being somewhat modest.
Seattle summers can be chilly and overcast, so I’m looking for some fun jeans. I already own pairs of regular jeans and I’m wanting something different.
I was excited to pull these out of my Stitch Fix box because they are distressed AND cropped!
Retail Price: $68.00
What I Liked about this Carrie Distressed Girlfriend Jean:
I really liked the distressing on the back pockets of the jeans and in front near the hips. It looks interesting and it isn’t a full hole in the jeans.
The denim color is fabulous and I love the little cuffs.
What I Didn’t Like about this Carrie Distressed Girlfriend Jean:
I asked for the jeans to not be too tight. The pairs I’ve tried on in the past don’t look great because it seems like my knees are smashed through the threads and it doesn’t feel very good.
These were tight in the legs and too big in the waist. I had to keep pulling them up, which is not how I want to spend my summer.
FINAL VERDICT: Return
MODA LUXE | ELA FOLDED OVER CROSSBODY
I’ve been on the hunt for medium size bag to take with me when I travel.
I either use a backpack so I can carry all my blogging gear (camera, gimbal, portable battery packs) or I take a super small purse that can only really hold a wallet.
And while I normally say not to include accessories, this month, I decided to see what they would come up with.
Retail Price: $48.00
What I Liked about this Ela Folded Over Crossbody:
The size was fantastic! It could easily hold a full wallet, a phone, a diaper, and still have room for snacks or small toys.
I liked that there was a zippered pocket in the flap and there was nice organization inside the bag.
What I Didn’t Like about this Ela Folded Over Crossbody:
The color in person is much closer to pea soup than this bright mustard color in the photo.
Had it been brighter, I would have definitely kept this.
FINAL VERDICT: Return
NINE BRITTON | CARLIE OFF THE SHOULDER KNIT MAXI DRESS
This really is the year of the maxi dress for me!
I already have a few, so I’m being extra particular about adding any more to my wardrobe. The ones I currently have are either pink or blue.
So, I was thrilled to pull out this green dress!
Retail Price: $54.00
What I Liked about this Carlie Off The Shoulder Knit Maxi Dress:
I really like the color combination. It kind of reminds me of something I’d find in Hawaii (and I can’t wait to wear it there!)
It feels amazing! It’s that buttery soft fabric people talk about and it’s slightly stretchy.
The fit is on point and it’s not too long, so I can easily walk around.
And I can wear it off the shoulder or I can wear it on my shoulders and it still looks cute.
Plus, the colors are perfect for the brand new Little Mermaid ears that just debuted in Disney Parks!
What I Didn’t Like about this Carlie Off The Shoulder Knit Maxi Dress:
Nothing. I think it’s great!
FINAL VERDICT: Keep
WEST KEI | ALLAN TIE SLEEVE HIGH LOW BLOUSE
I’m still on the hunt for fun shirts with a pop of color. I think it’s a great way to add in some playfulness to my summer wardrobe.
While I don’t normally wear red, I think my stylist sent this to me because I kept a red kimono top a few months ago.
I had a lot of mixed feelings when I pulled this out of my Stitch Fix box.
Retail Price: $42.00
What I Liked about this Allan Tie Sleeve High Low Blouse:
I liked the feel of the fabric. It’s very light and airy.
What I Didn’t Like about this Allan Tie Sleeve High Low Blouse:
In person, this is a very tomato-y red color and it just doesn’t look good with my skin tone.
I’m not a fan of the ties on the sleeves (and I mentioned that when I returned a similar top a few months ago.)
And the high low features around the waist don’t work well for my long torso. And it was super wide.
FINAL VERDICT: Return
FUN2FUN | MACKENZIE SPLIT NECK SLEEVELESS TOP
This is the year of yellow for me! I’ve finally decided I can sometimes pull of yellow clothing and I think it adds a cheery element to gloomy days!
When I pulled this one out of the box, I immediately liked the buttercup yellow color.
Looks like it would pair nicely with jeans, shorts, or cropped pants.
Retail Price: $38.00
What I Liked about this Mackenzie Split Neck Sleeveless Top:
The color is really pretty and looks good with my skin tone.
I liked the length. It hits my hip bone, which is where I like the length of these type of tops.
What I Didn’t Like about this Mackenzie Split Neck Sleeveless Top:
It was a bit wide for me and I wasn’t crazy about the flowers on it. They looked a bit like weeds to me.
FINAL VERDICT: Return
Overall, I’d say this Stitch Fix unboxing was fairly successful!
Most of this stuff was right on trend with what I was looking for!
The jeans had the right amount of distressing, and it was just that the fit was off for me (I have the worst time finding jeans that fit right.)
And I can’t wait to wear my new maxi dress at Disneyland, especially since it will match the new Little Mermaid ears that just debuted!
Next month, I’m heading to the beautiful Hard Rock Riviera Maya Hotel in Mexico for a Kidz Bop experience with my 5 year old! Wish me luck!
