Sharing is caring!

Do you ever take photos while traveling and they just sit on your computer? Or maybe you put a few on social media? I try to create photo books whenever possible, but that’s becoming a hobby I rarely have time to do. My family loves to look at photos of our family travels. So, when Lumaprints contacted me about their metal prints, I had just the photo in mind!

This last Spring, my family traveled to Paris, France. It was the first time I’d been since I was 18 years old. It also marked my youngest son’s first flight. We decided that this would be a great opportunity to do professional family photos. I think doing professional photos is such a great investment because time goes so quickly and I want to remember my family at every stage. However, these amazing photos often end up put away in photo books on our shelf or (more disappointingly) they stay on my laptop. I didn’t want that to be the case anymore!

Lumaprints Metal Prints

Using Lumaprints was super easy and took me a total of 10 minutes. Their website is clear and I was able to find the metal print section quickly. The entire process was really simple and I was able to do it while holding my baby. Here’s exactly what I did:

  1. Created an account (I like to do this first in case I get interrupted by children who need me.)
  2. Clicked on Order (it’s located in the top right corner)
  3. Clicked on Metal Prints
  4. Picked a size (I chose 24″x36″ to fit the wall I had in mind) and clicked Next.
  5. Uploaded a photo (this took a few extra minutes because I was torn between 2 photos, so I texted them to my husband so he could be the tie breaker.)
  6. Picked my orientation, metal surface, hanging hardware, and production time.
  7. Finally, I purchased my product.

My print arrived about a week later in a large box. There was tons of packaging and my kids thought it was entertaining to watch me open it all up. When I revealed the print to them, my oldest was really excited to see the Eiffel Tower! Then he started talking about our trip and what he enjoyed about Paris.

I was surprised how lightweight it was. Even though it was a large size, I was able to pick it up and move it around easily as I verified on which wall I wanted it to hang. Then, I simply hanged the metal print on the wall.

The metal print from Lumaprints looks very sleek. I could see us creating a photo gallery wall in the future highlighting our family travels. I appreciate not having to find (and buy) a frame. This is also why it would make a great gift. No more stress about finding a frame that will go with someone’s home decor.

Oh wow, this is such a great idea! Like yourself i have a lot of beautiful pictures I’ve taken that i just leave it stored in my computer or left in my phone not knowing what to do with them. The fact that these are lightweight is a bonus for me! as i do my own DIY and light weight items hung on the wall means they are less likely to fall off and get damaged! (i have had few beautiful painting fall off and fall apart due to heavy weight). The picture you got printed is gorgeous! such a lovely picture! and the design is very sleek looking! Thanks for sharing! x

Thanks so much for your kind words! That’s crazy that you had paintings fall off your wall!

  2. My husband does this with his photos all the time. When we travel, he takes tons of pictures and hang them around the house. Looks great!

  3. What a gorgeous print! I really love photos printed on metal, it gives them so much more character.

  4. First, that is such a great picture of you guys. Second, I love metal prints. They seem to last better and add a fun twist on wall hangings.

  5. Your family photo is gorgeous! And I was looking into metal prints but wasn’t sure how they’d look, yours is just perfect 🙂

Thanks so much! I’d recommend making sure you don’t hang a metal print (or any framed photo) where the light will shine directly on it to avoid the glare.
